Our Family Recipe
Where We Started
When I look back, I can see God's fingerprints in places I didn't recognize at the time.
Long before I understood the full assignment, God placed a few simple ingredients in my hands: a heart for young people, a passion for leadership, a love for community, and a deep desire to help people discover the greatness He had already placed within them.
I didn't have the whole recipe. I only had what God entrusted to me in that season and enough faith to take the next step.
In 2012, those ingredients became Milne Inspiration Center – Adolescents Making Positive Educated Decisions (MIC-AMPED), a place created for young people to discover new possibilities and the greatness already within them.
"This is not an organization...this is a family."
They came to MIC-AMPED for programs, experiences, and opportunities, but what we were building was never only about what happened during the program. It was about the relationships being built through it.
Family wasn't something we promised at the end of the journey. It was how we welcomed people from the very beginning.
Relationship was always part of the recipe.

Then Came the Refinement
What God placed in my hands in 2012 wasn't being replaced. It was being refined.
Over time, God began to show me the power young people have to bring generations back to the Table and reimagine what's possible when we make room for one another.
Just as time and care can deepen a recipe, God used every season to deepen and mature the vision He had placed in my heart.

MIC-AMPED is still rooted in what has been true from the beginning: young people at the center and relationship at the heart of the work.
Today, young people help set the Table, bringing their questions, concerns, hopes, and dreams into conversation across generations.
Sometimes a young person can remind us of something life taught us to forget. And an elder can help us see a little farther down the road.
The recipe has grown. The Table has expanded. But family is still how we welcome you.
